Frequently Asked Questions

What is Permanent Make-up?

It is a process by which we implant in the dermis

layer of the skin a small amount of pigment to create an illusion or enhancement where hair or color is missing (as in eyebrow, eyeliner, lip liner and color).

What are the Advantages of Permanent Make-up?

Permanent make-up is perfect for the busy person who has little time to apply make-up, for the athlete who wants to look natural and those with oily skin whose make-up seems to disappear after a short time.  Also, those allergic to conventional cosmetics or contact lens wearers may benefit from the application of Permanent make-up.

In What Other Ways is Permanent Make-up Useful?

Permanent make-up is very often used to “correct nature’s mistakes.”  Examples of this are… eyebrows where one is higher than the other, or lips that “shrink” or lose color with age.  Still other necessary uses of Permanent make-up are for those that have vitiligo or alopecia.  And lastly, skin repigmentation due to burns or reconstructive surgery (i.e. breasts, clef lip).

Is Permanent Make-up Really Permanent?

Although some “fading” may occur and a “touch-up” visit every couple of years may be necessary, the pigment will remain in the skin forever.  It is essential that a sun block be applied over the permanent make-up area at any time that you are exposed to the sun or a tanning bed.  Also, chlorine is a bleach and continuous exposure can “fade” pigment.

What About Sterilization, Sanitation, and Infection?

Please be assured that your health and safety are of utmost importance to us.  Sanitary surroundings, sterile equipment, disposable needles, and quality products are a must.

Is there Discomfort Involved?

In the most delicate areas, some discomfort may be experienced.  The use of topical anesthetic helps to lessen any discomfort.  If you are apprehensive and would like to take medication prescribed by your physician prior to your appointment, we have no objections.  Everyone has a different threshold of pain but we find that overall the discomfort is short lived in exchange for the long term reward that you get from the procedure.
